Star News vs. News and Observer

Good morning! It may be cloudy in Southeastern NC this morning but I hope you can make it out of bed for your newspaper! There were FOUR inserts in the paper today, totaling hundreds of dollars in coupons (and this number doesn't even count the coupons that may double).

Raleigh's News and Observer usually has more coupons; let's take a look to see if that's the case again this weekend!

Need to organize all those coupons?
Check out our binders here! They are the BEST
organizational system around for couponing!

There were also 2 additional inserts- a Proctor and Gamble and a Pepsi Moments to Save. They were in both newspapers so I won't list all the products as a comparison since you'll get them regardless of which paper you buy.

As usual, the Raleigh paper had many more coupons (see all the black letters). The Blue letters represent coupons that were in both papers and the red are coupons that are only in the Wilmington paper. As you can see there is only one product- Mrs. Snith's Pies, that were only in the Wilmington paper. So unless you specifically want that coupon, you'd be better off getting the Raleigh paper which will net you WAY more coupons for your money.

Until next week.............

Reminder: FREE Lunch at Macaroni Grill Today!

Need to organize all those coupons?
Check out our binders here! They are the BEST
organizational system around for couponing!

I posted this earlier in the week on the Delly's Deals Facebook page but I wanted to post a reminder about the free pick two combo today at Macaroni Grill. Here in Wilmington, NC, the Macaroni Grill is located in Mayfaire Town Center. There are many locations across the US.

Go here and print this coupon. They were still available as of this morning. It entitles one person per table to a free pick two combo at the Macaroni Grill from 11-4 toady, Friday, September 28th.

I went when they did this the last time and it was wonderful! The restaurant was not unreasonably busy, either.

Hope you have a chance to get out an enjoy a rare freebie!

Remember your Paper this Sunday!

Need to organize all those coupons?
Check out our binders here! They are the BEST
organizational system around for couponing!

I wanted to remind everyone about this Sunday's newspaper. It's the first of the month coming up and that means lots of great coupons. There are supposed to be five inserts in the paper this week!

There should be:

1 Proctor and Gamble
2 Red Plum
1 Smart Source
1 Pepsi Moments to Save (certain regions)

Keep in mind that the inserts vary by region so there is no guarantee that we will receive all of them. However, it never hurts to be on the lookout and check several papers before you walk out of the store.

Also, try to get the Raleigh News and Observer newspaper if you can because it has way more coupons that the smaller local city newspapers.

I hope to be back on Sunday morning posting my weekly newspaper coupon listing and comparison. See you then!

Betty Crocker and General Mills Promo at Harris Teeter this Week!

Want to Learn to Coupon? Check out an upcoming Workshop
  Click here for more info!

I am excited about the Betty Crocker/General Mills promo going on at Harris Teeter this week. Not only are many popular items on sale, but you can also use coupons AND if you buy certain quantities, you receive additional money off. It's very easy and there are tons of coupons that match this sale. Many are available right here on my website on the coupon center to the left. You can print up to two copies of each coupon.

In addition, it gets better! You will earn 50 bonus box tops for your child's school if you buy any 8 of the participating products above in one transaction. The Box tops will print out at the register. You will get them regardless of any coupons you use, so some of the products may be close to free and you'll still get the Bonus Box Tops!

Here's a sample transaction. Now remember, I haven't yet been in the store to do this but looking at the coupons I have, this is an idea of what I might try:

From flyer: Buy 4 Select General Mills Cereals and get $4 automatically off your bill:

Buy:

2 Lucky Charms, use 2 coupons for $.50 off 1 (I printed mine from coupon center on left and there may also be some from the Sunday paper)

2 Golden Grahams, use 2 coupons for $.50 off 1 (I printed mine from coupon center on left and there may also be some from the Sunday paper)

Cereal is on sale for 2 for $5

Four boxes= $10- $4 in coupons above (all doubled)-$4 off at register from promo= $2 out of pocket for all four boxes!

BONUS: I just found an EVIC coupon for Lucky Charms, $.50 off and Golden Grahams, $.75 off. Adding those, the total drops to $.75 for all FOUR boxes!

I think you can do a good deal with the fruit snacks, too since there are nice coupons out there for those.

I will post later in the week letting you know how it went when I tried my transactions!

Today Only! $5 off $25 Coupon for Harris Teeter!

Be sure to grab a local newspaper (I grabbed the Star News in Wilmington) because there is a coupon for $5 off $25 purchase from Harris Teeter. This is supposed to be in most areas that have Harris Teeter stores because I found out from someone in a county all the way across the state!

The coupon is located on the front page of the Harris Teeter flyer in the newspaper but it WILL NOT be in the store flyer at your Harris Teeter location. For this reason, you have to buy the Wednesday newspaper to get it. I went to a convenient store but many grocery stores carry the Wednesday paper, too. Be sure to check for the coupon before you pay!

The coupon can be combined with other coupons. It does say that you must meet $25 after all other coupons have been applied; I'm not sure how strict they are with that.

Also, check with your other local grocery stores because sometimes they will take competitor's coupons like this. I have specifically heard of Walmart and Lowes Foods doing this.

Let me know if you get one and use it this week!

I have to admit that when I first found out over the weekend that Super Doubles was starting at Harris Teeter today, I wasn't exactly jumping for joy. I couldn't have if I had wanted to :) At 9 months pregnant (due any day now), it took everything in me to muscle up the enthusiasm to get together a Super Double coupons trip.

However, I'm glad I did because it turned out to be a fun trip and I got some really great deals! In the end I paid $9.32 plus tax for over 29 items, many of which were free, saving almost 90%.  I will share below what I got and how I did it.

I saw a few other deals that I'd like to get back for this week; we'll see if this baby holds off long enough to let me get a few more trips in!

Cottonnelle Deal at Harris Teeter- Make Money for Future Trips!

Need to organize all those coupons?
Check out our binders here! They are the BEST
organizational system around for couponing!

Yesterday in our house, we were on our last roll of toilet paper. Normally I keep it stocked but I was out of town during the last two Harris Teeter Saturday specials where they had the toilet paper that I like on sale. So, I was happy to see the Cottonelle deal going on last week and this week.

Right now, there is a national Catalina special going on where if you buy 2 packs of Cottonelle toilet paper (12 pack or larger) you get a $2 Catalina coupon back that you can spend on your next purchase. If you buy 3 or more packs you will receive a $6 coupon.

I received notice of this offer as a coupon when I checked out
at the Register a few weeks ago.

Cottonelle 12 packs (they claim these are the big rolls that are equal to 24 rolls) are currently on sale at Harris Teeter for $8.99. So, I went for it and bought 3 packs.

As a bonus, each pack had a $1.00 off coupon attached that doubled to $2.00 off, making the packs $6.99 instead of $8.99. There were also coupons recently in the August 12th Sunday paper for Cottonnelle for $.50 off, which aren't quite as good as the $1.00 coupons that were attached to the toilet paper.

The grand total before tax was $20.97 and after paying I got back a $6.00 Catalina. Actually, it only printed out a $3 Catalina which puzzled me. Fortunately, I had a copy of the deal with me (it had printed out during a previous trip) and once I showed it to them and the manager gave me a $3 credit. So, it pays to have proof of these Catalina deals.

In the end, counting the $6 back that I made, I got (3 packs) 36 rolls for $14.97. This comes out to $.42 per roll. Compare that to the Sam's Club price of $.66 per roll AND the Sam's Club rolls are smaller, having only 164 sheets versus the 176 sheet rolls that I got today.

Want to Learn to Coupon? Check out an upcoming Workshop
  Click here for more info!

Even if there was no Catalina offer of $6 back, I still would have paid $.58 per roll which is still less than Sam's Club. I will admit that I've actually paid less than this for Cottonelle toilet paper before. I've gotten the 12 packs for as little as $4.99 and once I got it for $2.99 (special EVIC price and a $3 coupon). However, seeing that we were basically out of toilet paper and this deal was still better than the warehouse club price, I decided to go for it!

To see a list of more Catalina deals (deals where you buy a certain amount of something and earn money to spend on your next trip), click here. Southern Savers keeps a list of them. It's not always perfectly accurate, and it doesn't contain ALL the Catalina deals, but it's the best list I've been able to find.

Froot Loops for 5.5 Cents Per Box through Tuesday Night!

Thanks to Ariel M. from the Delly's Deals Facebook page for sharing this great deal with us!

If your little one (or yourself) is a fan of Kellogg's Froot Loops, you will want to take advantage of an awesome deal going on right now at Harris Teeter. This is also a great item to donate.

Currently Froot Loops are B1G1 free, so each 8.7 oz box is half off (Frosted Flakes, too, by the way).

On Friday, Harris Teeter sent me an EVIC alert saying that I could buy up to four boxes of Kelloggs cereals and get $1.00 off per box. Not everyone got this same deal but from talking to people, I hear many people did. The only way to know is to check your Harris Teeter EVIC email from Friday to see if this is one of the special deals that you were offered.

Besides that, there is also a $1.00 off Froot Loops coupon available on the Harris Teeter EVIC digital coupons page. Access this by clicking "EVIC coupons" when you open your Harris Teeter e-mail.

Finally, there is a $1.00 off 3 boxes of Froot Loops coupon available on my website (see left). I printed this and used it, too.

All of these discounts come off because they are all different types of discounts- one is a store promo, one is a digital/electronic coupon, and one is a paper coupon.

SO...................this is what the deal ended up looking like:

I bought 3 boxes of Froot Loops, 8.7 oz, for $1.72 each ($5.17 total)

I used:

$1.00 off paper coupon printed from coupon center on my website (see left)

$1.00 off digital coupon from my Harris Teeter EVIC email

$3.00 off automatically from the Harris Teeter EVIC specials this weekend

Total Due: 17 cents for all three boxes!

After tax it came to 21 cents! Not even store brand cereal beats that price. Don't you just love couponing?!

You can do this deal, too through Tuesday night when the sales change over. Let me know how it works for you!

Star News vs. News and Observer

Good morning!

I apologize for getting this list out a later than I normally do. My baby is due in about two weeks and it's getting harder and harder to get up early because I wake up so many times at night! I hope to get back on track soon (wishful thinking maybe :)).

There were three inserts in each newspaper this morning, in both Raleigh and Wilmington papers. As usual, the Raleigh inserts felt a lot thicker but Wilmington wasn't too bad, either. Let's take a look to see exactly what coupons were in each insert, since it does vary by city.

Sam's Club Baby Products/Diaper/Formula Offer- Earn $10 Gift Card!

Want to Learn to Coupon? Check out an upcoming Workshop

I rarely buy diapers or any baby supplies at Sam's Club. Usually, I can do better by using coupons on sales, especially when the diaper companies run promos at the drug store or occasionally grocery stores. Click here to see one of my recent articles about how I save money on diapers.

However, I know there are many people who prefer to buy in bulk at Sam's Club (although more costly than using coupons and sales, I will admit this is certainly more convenient).

Rarely do the diaper companies offer promos at warehouse clubs but Sam's Club sent me an email about a promo they are offering at Sam's Club through September 30th. If you buy two of the qualifying products, you will receive a $10 Sams Club gift card through the mail. Pretty easy!

Qualifying products are:

Any Pampers Cruisers
Any Pampers Swaddlers
Pampers Soft Care Wipes
Pampers Sensitive Wipes
Dreft HE Laundry Detergent
Any Similac Powder or Ready to Feed
Any PediaSure

Need to organize all those coupons?
Check out our binders here! They are the BEST
organizational system around for couponing!

You do have to go online to www.samsclub.com/giftcardoffer to fill out a form to receive your $10 gift card after you've made your purchase.

I checked prices on their diapers online to compare. Counting the $10 gift card, Pampers Cruisers size four, would be 19 cents per diaper. Not too bad, although I've gotten diapers on sale at CVS with coupons and a promo for 16 cents per diaper.

Wipes come out to be 1.6 cents per wipe, counting the $10 gift card. That is a pretty good deal. Again, I've done better but it doesn't get too much cheaper than 1 cent per wipe. It might be worth it considering the low price plus the fact that you would be stocked up on wipes for quite some time!

Let me know if you decide to do the promo and how it works for you!

I posted on the Delly's Deals Facebook page but wanted to remind folks here that there are no coupons in the paper on holidays. Labor Day weekend is considered a holiday, so there are no coupons today!

This would be a great opportunity to clean up your binder, print coupons from the Delly's Deals website coupon center (see left) or simply enjoy yourself and relax with your family :)

If you do decide to print coupons, there are many new ones as it is the first of the month.

Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day!

Harris Teeter Saturday Special- $2.97 for K-Cup 12 packs!

I am SO excited about this Saturday's special at Harris Teeter. Saturday only, Green Mountain K-Cup Coffee 12 count packs will be only $3.97 per box.

There are also coupons available at www.couponnetwork.com for $1.00 off, which would make them only $2.97 per 12-count box. That is an awesome deal! Even better is that there is a limit of four, so you can really stock up and have as many as 48 K-Cups to use.

Let's put it in perspective- at Sam's Club, they work out to be 43.8 cents per K-Cup. Even without using coupons, they work out to be 33 cents per K-Cup at Harris Teeter tomorrow, costing you only $15.88 for 48 cups versus $34.98 for 80 cups at Sam's Club.

Now, let's do some coupon magic. Let's say you buy 2 boxes tomorrow at Harris Teeter AND use 2 internet coupons from www.couponnetwork.com to save yourself $1.00 off per box. You would pay a grand total of $5.94 for 24 K-Cups, which makes them 24.7 cents per K-Cup versus the Sam's Club price of 43.8 cents per cup. In other words, they are ALMOST twice as much at Sam's Club.

Just another example (scroll through my website to see many others) of how shopping sales with coupons beats warehouse club prices pretty much every time!
