How I Saved 80% at Harris Teeter plus General Mills promo

I paid $9.26 for $48.11 worth of groceries! Saved over 80%!
Organize yourself- check out our sale on binders plus free shipping at www.couponingbinders.com!

On Wednesday evening I went to Harris Teeter and got some great deals. I ended up saving 80% which I thought was spectacular, especially for a regular grocery week. It isn't Super Doubles or anything. Before coupons the total was $48.11 and after coupons and store discounts I paid only $9.26!

Part of the reason I saved so much was the General Mills/Betty Crocker Promo going on this week at Harris Teeter. Buy certain items and get money off automatically at the register. Click below to see the flyer. Even better is the fact that most of these items have matching coupons from the recent Sunday newspapers (Smart Source insert October 7th). I even found a few others randomly in my binder from previous months when I printed coupons.

Click the flyer for details on the

Deal Alert! General Mills Cereals for $.50 at Harris Teeter!

General Mills Promo at Harris Teeter this week. Buy any four General Mills Cereals (not just the ones pictured above) and get $6 off automatically at the register! Don't forget to use any coupons that you have, too!

Organize yourself and make finding coupons even easier! Check out our new binder site, www.couponingbinders.com. FREE Shipping on all binders and binder sets!

One of my favorite things about Halloween is when General Mills releases the Count Chocula, Boo Berry and Frankenberry Cereals. They are limited editions and tend to sell out quickly but I try to get some because I do love the Count Chocula so much!

They are currently on sale at Harris Teeter for $2.50 per box. If you buy four boxes of General Mills cereals, you get $6 off automatically at the register. So, this is what I plan to do:

4 Boxes of Count Chocula for $10
$6 taken off automatically at register=
$4 for four boxes ($1 each)
I also have coupons for $1.00 off 2 General Mills Cereals, so if I use two of those, I get $2 extra off
Total: $2 for 4 boxes!
$.50 each!

There are SO many General Mills coupons floating around out there; I couldn't list them all. Check your binder and also be sure to click any digital EVIC/ZVR coupons because you may be able to save even more. I know for example, that I had Honey Nut Cheerios coupons as one of my EVIC coupons.

Also, look to the left here on my website and print any General Mills coupons that you see at the coupon center. Click "See all coupons" to see all the awesome coupons that are available for you to print for FREE!

Staples FREE Batteries Deal is Back Again!

Win a $50 grocery or drug store gift card of your choice, just in time for Thanksgiving! Visit our new binder website, www.couponingbinders.com and enter your e-mail to be entered in the Nov. 15th drawing!

The Staples battery deal has come around once again and I love it! This is a great time to stock up for Christmas toy batteries!

Several times a year Staples gives 100% back in rewards when you buy 16 packs of Duracell AA and AAA batteries, limit 2 per customer. You can then take those Staples rewards and buy anything else in the store that you need- copies, office supplies, ink, etc. (I tend to use mine to get free or discounted HP printer ink).

Here's how it works: You must first have a Staples rewards card. If you do not currently have one, just ask at the front counter and they'll be glad to help you sign up immediately.

Then, you must buy the 16 pack AA or AAA batteries. I believe they are $10.99. You will pay for them at the counter, regular price, but then several weeks later in your e-mail or postal mail if you prefer, you will receive a full rebate for them in the form of a Staples reward certificate. This would amount to 21.98 if you had bought 2 packs. You can then print out your reward and bring it into Staples to buy anything else in the store with it! I tend to buy printer ink with mine.

Here's an example: right now Staples is running a special on printer ink where you get $6 back per cartridge if you buy $50 worth of ink. I've done that before- bought $50 worth of HP ink, then used previously earned battery rewards to help pay for it. So I might get $50 worth of ink for $28.02 and then turn in 5 cartridges to earn $30 back on the ink. If you count the cartridge money that I get back, it's almost like the ink was free.

For those in Wilmington, there are now two Staples stores. One is near Sam's Club on N. College Rd. and the other is in Monkey Junction.

Good morning! Today I found two inserts in each newspaper- a Red Plum and a Smart Source. I also found what appeared to be an additional bonus insert in my Raleigh paper. It was a Smart Source insert with lots of General Mills product coupons. My Wilmington inserts appeared to be thinner so let's take a look and see exactly which coupons were in each paper.

Wilmington's Red Plum insert today was awful! I could count the number of coupons on one hand. Raleigh Red Plum was very nice.

On the other hand, Wilmington's Smart Source, although still thinner than the Raleigh Smart Source, did have a couple of coupons that were not in Raleigh at all- Celestial Seasonings Tea, Wondermop, Pledge, Tylenol Cold and Sinus Products and the Schick Disposable Razor Coupons.

Until next week......

Robitussin at CVS for only $.49 each!

Need to organize all those coupons? Check out our new website, www.couponingbinders.com. We are having a big sale on all zebra style binders PLUS free shipping so be sure to check them out!

I always say to buy your medicine BEFORE you get sick. With winter and flu season coming up, now is the time to begin stocking up on your medicine. There's nothing worse than having to run out to the store and look for medicine while you're feeling bad. In fact, when you do go shopping sick, you're sure to overspend and pay any amount just to feel better.

This week CVS has a great deal on Robitussin cold medicine. You can get the liquid 4 oz. or the 20 ct pills and they come out only $.49 each! This is a better price than store brand medicine AND it's a lot less than the usual price of $

It's very simple:

Buy 2 Robitussin on sale for $4.99 each
Use two $3 off coupons from yesterday's Red Plum newspaper.

Total you pay at register: $3.98 for two Robitussin

(Honestly, that's already a steal but it gets better)

For buying two, CVS will give you $3 back in Extrabucks after you pay. You can then redeem these in the store for anything else you want (minus alcohol, tobacco, lotto).

Counting the Extrabucks, you paid only $.49 each for the name brand medicine!

Learn how to Cut Your Grocery Bill by 50%! Attend a workshop with me. Next workshop- November 10th.

It's hard to beat that price! Don't you just love couponing? You can do this 5 times and buy up to 10 medicines, thus earning $15 in Extrabucks depending on if you have enough coupons.

NOTE: I got it FREE at Harris Teeter yesterday! It was on sale for $4.99 and I used a $3.00 off paper coupon and a $3.00 off EVIC coupon for a total of $6.00 off. I actually came out $1.01 in the positive! I don't know if the Robitussin is still on sale at Harris Teeter but it never hurts to ask!

$5 off $25 Purchase at Family Dollar all Week

Check out our NEW website, www.couponingbinders.com! We are having a sale on all zebra style binders,
too plus FREE shipping!

I love shopping at Family Dollar, especially when they give out the $5 off $25 purchase coupons. They do this about once a month and it's back!

The coupon can be found on their website here and printed for you to take into the store to redeem. It was also in yesterday's Sunday newspaper on the front page of the Family Dollar store flyer. To my knowledge, it will not be found inside of the store in the store flyer, so you have to already have it before you go into the store.

Family Dollar accepts all manufacturer's coupons and on their website you can also find Family Dollar store coupons that you could stack with the manufactuer's coupons PLUS use the $5 off $25.

Family Dollar runs some excellent specials each week and I find that I can come out really well by using their sales, plus coupons plus the $5 off $25. They do an item of the week special each week and this week's deal is Hershey's Jumbo Mix Candy Bag 17.31 oz or Mars Fun Size Mix Candy Bag 19.55 oz. for only $4.

I plan to use the $5 off $25 and buy LUVS diapers. Here's the deal:
LUVS Diapers Jumbo Packs are on sale 2 for $14.

I will buy 4 packs for $28

I will use 2 coupons from yesterday's Sunday paper for $1 off 2 packs of diapers for a total of $2 off.

I will then use the $5 off $25 coupon

$28-$2-$5= $21 plus tax for four packs of diapers ($5.25 each)

I like to figure out the cost per diaper. This varies depending on what size you buy (for example, newborn Jumbo packs have more diapers than size 4 or 5) but since I'm buying size four we'll go with that. 31 diapers come in size four, so I'm getting a total of 124 LUVS diapers for $21. That comes out to 16.9 cents per diaper. That's a pretty good price. I've done better, but it's certainly a deal worth getting. In comparison, Sam's Club sells the same size LUVS for 17 cents per diaper, so basically you're getting a Sam's Club price without paying for a membership and without having to buy so many at a time.

At Walmart, size four LUVS with 31 in a pack cost 21 cents per diaper, compared to the 16 cents at Family Dollar by using coupons.

As you can see, it pays to use coupons!

*Note- you may want to see if your Walmart will accept the $5 off $25 coupons from Family Dollar. Their policy states that they take competitor's coupons, so it should work.
