Super Double Coupons Trip #2- From $94.90 to $20.87

I paid a total of $20.87 for all these items, down from the original price of $94.90
Pictured: 2 boxes of Chex Cereal, 3 Dawn Dish Detergents, 8 Power Bars, 1 Pepperidge Farms Jingos Snacks, 2 Franks Red Hot Sauce Bottles, 3 Bags of Purina Cat Food, 2 12 ct boxes of Green Mountain Coffee K-Cups, 2 Skintimate Shave Gels, 2 Gerber Organic Baby Food Pouches, Dole Pineapple Orange Juice, 2 Packs of Oscar Meyer Bacon 16 oz.

Come to a workshop and learn everything you need to know about how to Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half!
Next workshop is Sat. November 10th in Wilmington.

This morning I went for my second Super Double Coupons trip at Harris Teeter. While this trip is not as dramatic as my first Super Double Coupons Trip, I know that $20.87 is a great price for everything I bought, especially considering that I bought many high-value items such as coffee, Cat Food, and bacon, to name a few. Also, everything was name brand, which isn't a personal requirement for me but it happens that I usually get name brand products for less than store brand prices.

FREEBIES:

Dawn Dish Soap- Sunday paper P&G insert
Franks Red Hot Sauce- Sunday paper

CHEAPIES:

Power Bars ($.50)- used coupon from my coupon center on the left
Oscar Meyer Bacon ($.94 each)- used coupon printed from my website on left (click see all coupons)
Dole Orange Pineapple Juice ($1.25)- Sunday Paper
Pepperidge Farm Jingos Crackers ($1.00)- Sunday paper
Purina Cat Food- had 3 different coupons- $1.25 from coupons.com savings club (see big red button above), $.99 from my coupon center on the left, and $1.00 from Sunday paper, so I paid $.34, .84, and $.86 when the original price is $5.68 per bag
Green Mountain K-Cups- ($2.97 each( (HT Saturday special and I used a coupon from the Green Mountain FB Page)
Skintimate Shave Gel- ($1.00)- used coupon from my coupon center on the left
Gerber Organic Baby Food Pouches- ($.50) each used coupon from my coupon center on the left
Chex Cereal- ($1.00 each)- used coupon from my coupon center on the left

There were some other deals that I saw but didn't get since I already met my 20 double coupons per day limit. I saw Cooked Perfect Meatballs for $.87 per bag after $1.00 coupon from Sunday paper. Also, another shopper told me that the V8 V-Fusion Smoothie Juice drinks are free with the coupon from Sunday paper.

Super Double Coupons Trip #1- $1.93 plus tax for $82 worth of groceries!

I think today was one of the best trips I have ever had at Harris Teeter Super Doubles! In the end I paid $1.93 plus tax. before coupons or sales, the total was $82.47. Another thing that made this trip nice was that I got a wide variety of items, from ground pork, to rope sausage, to lotion, to cat food, to household cleaners. Couponing is definitely not just for junk foods!
See all the ZVR coupons? Those stand for "Zaver" and mean the Harris Teeter EVIC coupons that you upload to your shopper card. Sign up for EVIC online at www.harristeeter.com and they will send you an e-mail where you can click the EVIC coupons and add to your card.

Since I can only double 20 coupons per day, I will go back tomorrow for more items. My first trip is always just a fun trip where I see how much I can get for how little. The rest of the week is more serious, where I will actually try to stock up on some items that my family uses. Even though they may not be freebies, I still expect to save 50%-75% during the rest of the week. I saw lots of deals today on coffee, cat and dog food, vitamins, paper products and baby items.

I even made money on a couple of items!
(Dawn Dish Detergent- on sale for $.99. Use a $.50 paper coupon from 10/28 P&G and a $.50 ZVR Harris Teeter online coupon- it all comes off and you end up $.51 in the positive!)

Being organized is half the battle. I had planned out my trip last night and organized the coupons that I planned to use and placed them in the "To Redeem at Checkout" section of my binder. I am also glad that I had organized my binder this past weekend because there are always sales that I was not anticipating and I was able to easily find coupons to match those sales.
I try to have my trip planned before I go, having pulled the coupons that I think are good deals. Visit www.southernsavers.com and click "Harris Teeter" to see lists of deals.

But it still pays to have your coupons organized in the proper section in your binder for those surprise sales that you come across in the store. That way, you can easily find the coupon when you need it and match it to the sale!

Normally I suggest leaving your children at home if you can because it's easier to concentrate when you are alone. However, I did bring along my five week old daughter and she was my little shopping buddy today. She slept the whole time!
My shopping buddy was a good girl today!

See the details of everything I got today below and be sure to share your deals on the Delly's Deals Facebook page this week!

Coffeemate paid $.06  (printed online here plus used $.50 ZVR coupon)
Dawn Hand Renewal- paid $.25 ($.75 off paper coupon from 10/28 P&G plus $.75 ZVR coupon)
Kelloggs Nutrigrain- paid $1.00 ($.75 off printable from my coupon center on the left)
Stouffers Family Size Mac n Cheese- paid $.99 ($2.00 paper coupon plus $1.00 ZVR coupon)
Keri Lotion- paid $.17 (used $2 coupon from August Sunday paper )
Smithfield Rope Sausage paid $.50 (used paper coupon from Sunday paper)

I apologize that I can't list the sources for all my coupons. Some were already cut and in my binder so I can't list the exact newspaper that they came from. However, you can use my coupon database above if you want to find any coupons. Just type the product name and all the different sources for a coupon matching that product will appear.

Super Double Coupons Week Starts Tomorrow!

Get organized for Super Double coupons week- shop with a binder! It will help you save hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of dollars. Click here for details.

Starting tomorrow, Wed. Oct. 31st, Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods will be running Super Doubles for a week. With tomorrow being Halloween, it's going to be one busy Wednesday for me!

I will probably go 3-4 times this week, for a total of around 80 coupons.

Remember, the rules of Super Double coupon week are that you can double up to twenty coupons per day, including coupons that are up to $2.00 in face value on the coupon. This means that $1.00 will double to $2.00, $1.50 will double to $3.00 and $2.00 will double to $3.50 off
. Match the coupons to the SALES for maximum savings.

Read my post, "How I Get Prepare for Triple Coupons Week" to get specific details on exactly what I do to prepare. Although I was preparing for Triple coupon week when I did that post, the steps that I follow are the same for this week's Super Double Coupon week.

    Other tips to remember-

    A. Try to get the items you want the most (particularly the free ones) first. Sometimes popular items sell out. Although the grocery store will restock, it's hard to know exactly when and how many of an item they will get in.

    B. Order any coupons for items your family goes through quite a bit, but only if it will be a good deal. You can order from EBAY to get item-specific coupons.

    C. Pull any $1.00, $1.50, and $1.75 off coupons out of your binder and place in an envelope marked specifically for Super Double coupons. That way, you can easily price check in store to see if it will be a good deal. Also, organize the coupons by aisle in the grocery store for maximum efficiency, although this is not required.

    D. Don't forget to upload your digital coupons! Go to your Harris Teeter weekly emails, click "EVIC coupons" and load as many as you like onto your shopper card. I noticed lots of P&G coupons that have digital matchups, so this means you will double your paper coupon AND get the digital coupons off, too! I have also been getting overage on my digital coupons, so that's a nice bonus!

    E. Visit the deal lists on Southern Savers to see previews of the deals that are available. These will give you an idea of some of the great deals but remember, no website can ever find all the deals! You have to look around the store yourself and see what coupons you have to match the products that are on sale.

I love to hear about all your great deals! Post here or on the Delly's Deals Facebook Page and share your deals with us all week!

Chick Fil A Free Food Calendars Back!

You know the year is coming to an end when Chick Fil A premiers their annual Cow Calendar. They are now available and if you like Chick Fil A, I highly recommend you get one soon. Last year they sold out. I tried to get one on EBAY and people were selling them for three times as much as they normally cost.

Why all the fuss? The calendars only cost $6 + tax but are loaded with one free item of food for each month of the year. They are fairly generous. Here is the list of free items for 2013:

In previous years, each month had a redeemable coupon that you had to tear off to use. Now, the calendars come with a card that you can keep in your wallet to redeem your free item each month. When you activate your card, you can even receive reminders to redeem your free food item before the deadline.

These calendars make great gifts for kids, family members, teachers, yourself and really just about anyone who has easy access to Chick Fil A and is likely to redeem the items.

Calendars are available at Chick Fil A locations or online here. Last year they sold out, so get yours soon!
