Free Kids Haircuts at JC Penny All August!

Thanks to Barbara C. for pointing this out! In the Sunday paper on July 29th, there was a JC Penny ad insert announcing that JC Penny will be offering free haircuts during the month of August for children K-6. What a great opportunity to save!

We do have a JC Penny Salon in Wilmington in Independence Mall. I used to go there myself until my hairdresser relocated to her own salon :) I was always pleased.

To book your child's haircut, call 855-JCP-KIDS. It says to make an appointment while they last, so if you are interested, I suggest calling sooner rather than later!

CVS Diaper Sale- Less than Sam's Club!

For those like me who have to buy diapers, I wanted to alert you to a diaper sale at CVS. When I did the math using coupons, the Pampers diapers, my personal favorites, turned out to be 16 cents per diaper while the Sam's Club price for the same size and brand is 23 cents per diaper. That's a difference of 7 cents per diaper. That's a difference of $7 for 100 diapers!!!! Not to mention that you have to PAY for a Sam's Club membership, too.

So......this is how the transaction goes:

Buy 1 Box of Pampers Diapers from CVS for $24.49
(I prefer Baby Dry Size 4, 96 count right now)

Then use:

$1.50 off coupon from the 7/29 Proctor and Gamble insert in the Sunday paper
$4.00 off coupon from scanning your card at the CVS coupon center (not everyone is guaranteed to get this coupon but many of you will)

Pay: 18.99 out of pocket for the box of diapers

After paying, CVS will give you back $3.00 in Extrabucks to use on your next purchase. If you count the Extrabucks, it's like you paid $15.99, which makes them 16 cents per diaper!

What if you don't use the $4 off coupon from the CVS machine; let's say you don't get that coupon. If you use your Sunday paper coupon and count the Extrabucks, you still pay 20 cents per diaper which is STILL less than the Sams Club price at 23 cents.

This is just another example of how the big box stores are not the best deal and especially not if you use coupons and store promos! IF you bought on average 100 diapers a month at Sam's Club versus taking advantage of these store promos and coupons, you would overspend on diapers by $84 a year!

You have until Saturday, August 4th to get this great deal!

Earn Up to $200 in FREE Groceries at Harris Teeter!

How would you like to earn up to $200 in free groceries simply by transferring your prescriptions?

If so, once again, Harris Teeter is offering their pharmacy credit to customers who transfer their prescriptions to Harris Teeter pharmacy. The stipulation is that you must be a NEW pharmacy customer, so this is not available to those who already have their prescriptions at Harris Teeter. This is such a great program for many reasons:

1. You can earn up $200 total. You earn a $20 coupon credit for each prescription that you transfer. The $20 credits are transferred to your VIC card.

2. You can only spend one $20 electronic coupon credit per transaction.

 3. Harris Teeter offers FREE diabetic generics, FREE 14-day supply of antibiotics, and $3.99 and $9.99 generic drugs, so many customers find their pharmacy prices to be extremely comparable or even better than other pharmacies. PLUS, you get to earn the $20 credit per prescription transfer.

4. Harris Teeter offers a 15 minute guarantee, so you should never have to wait too long for your prescriptions. I love the idea of dropping off a prescription, shopping and then picking it up when you finish your shopping.

If you decide to take advantage of this offer, be sure to let the pharmacist know when you drop your prescription. You have to tell them that you want a punch card to earn your $20 credits. Once you pay for your prescription, the pharmacist will punch your card to give you a credit and then transfer it to your VIC card electronically. They will NOT do this automatically, so you have to express that you want to earn the $20 per prescription credit.

Finally, you have until October 2, 2012 to earn your credits and October 9, 2012 to spend your credits. That is plenty of time to take advantage of this awesome offer! Click here to read all the details!

Lowes Foods grocery stores have once again decided to grace us with their Super Double Coupons program! For an entire week, starting Wednesday, July 25th and ending Tuesday, July 31st, all Lowes Foods stores will be doubling coupons that have a face value of $1.98 or less.

This means that $1.00 coupons will double to $2.00 off, $1.50 will double to $3.00 off and if you happen to have a $1.98 coupon (thought I have never seen one), it would double to $3.96 off. You can double up to 20 coupons per transaction.

Keep in mind that, per their couponing policy, most Lowes Foods will not allow you to split orders and do multiple transactions during the week of Super Doubles. See their official coupon policy here. I encourage everyone to be respectful couponers and to abide by the rules and accept them as stated. It is my opinion that if you disagree with a policy, it's a great idea to contact customer service or corporate, rather than take it out on the cashier.

Please share your great deals below or on the Delly's Deals Facebook Page. Here's to a week of great deals and happy shopping!

CVS- FREE Stayfree Maxis and Other Great Deals!

I paid nothing but tax ($.42) for all of these items from CVS!
Read below to see how I did it.

I dropped by CVS this morning to grab my FREE Stayfree Maxis. There was a $2.00 off coupon in today's Raleigh Smart Source insert. The Maxis are on sale for $2.00, so they were free! All I had to pay was the tax.

While in there, I scanned my CVS Extrabucks card at the coupon center just to see if any other good coupons came out. Sure enough, I got the following coupons:

$3 off any Sunscreen Purchase
$1 off two Mars Candy Singles

I found some CVS brand sunscreen (2 oz size) this week priced at 2 for $3. After my $3 coupon, it became free as well.

I also noticed that Mars candy bars are 2 or $1 at CVS this week. After my $1 coupon, both my M&Ms and Snickers were free. How awesome is that?!

I bought 2 AMP energy drinks for my husband. They are on sale 2 for $3 but if you buy two, you automatically get $3 in CVS Extrabucks back, thus making them basically free.

Finally, I needed Kleenex Tissues and they are $.88 each at CVS this week. So, I bought three boxes and used a $.50 off 3 coupon from the Sunday paper a few weeks back. I then applied my $3 Extrabucks from the AMP drink to pay for the Kleenex and they were all free. I actually had to buy one more candy bar because my total had CVS owing me money and they wouldn't do that, so I had to grab something cheap.

I split everything into two transactions and it looked like this:

Transaction #1:

2 AMP Energy Drinks for $3

I paid $3 plus tax and received back $3 in CVS Extrabucks after paying.

Transaction #2:

2 Snickers Bar Singles
1 M&M Single Pack
2 CVS Brand Sunscreen 2 oz size
2 Stayfree Maxi Pads, 14 ct.
3 Boxes of Kleenex with Lotion, 70 ct

I redeemed:

$1.00 off 2 Mars Candy Bars (CVS coupon from coupon center)
$3 off Any Sunscreen Purchase (CVS coupon from coupon center)
2 coupons for $2.00 off Stayfree Maxis
$.50 off 3 boxes of Kleenex
$3.00 in Extrabucks that I earned from buying the AMP

Grand total:

FREE plus tax!

Tips for CVS- find items on sale, apply your coupons and buy items that will earn you Extrabucks that you can use to pay for anything else in your cart. I love CVS!

You have through next Saturday, July 28th to do these deals at CVS!

Candy Bar Sale at Rite Aid!

Candy bar sale- paid $1.50 plus tax (avg. of $.18 per candy bar)

OK- so I'll admit to being a little ashamed of posting this, but I'll justify it by saying that there are many reasons people might want to stock up on candy bars. Maybe you're a teacher or youth group leader who wants to use them for a prize box. Maybe you have teenagers who are going to buy them anyways and you'd rather get them on sale than have your teenager grab them at the convenience store for three times the price. Maybe you're on the ABS or Low Carb diet and this is one of your freebie day items.

Whatever the reason, if you do like candy bars, this is the week to get them at Rite Aid. They are 2 for $1.00, select sizes of MARS brand candy bars. They should be clearly marked, so only grab the ones that have the 2 for $1 sign. By the way, you DO have to buy 2 to get the great price. If you buy one it will be $.99, so you may as well grab two.

Now here's where the magic comes in- add coupons to the mix and you can get some of them FREE! Here's the deal:

Milky Way (FREE)

Buy two and use this $1.00 off 2 coupon from Coupon Network. It's that easy- the two candy bars will ring up to $1.00 and your coupon will remove the $1.00. They are both FREE!

Twix ($.25 each)

Buy two and use a $.50 off 2 coupon. I printed the coupon off the coupon center on my website a few weeks ago. It is no longer there, but if you happened to have printed it this is a great time to use it. This is why I recommend printing coupons in advance when you see one that you might use. You never know how long it will remain available!

Snickers ($.50 each)

I just wanted these- I did not have a coupon, although I hear there may have been some tear pad coupons out there to use on MARS candy bars for $.50 off 2.

The sale ends Saturday night, July 21st, so drop by before then to get the great deals!

Print this nice coupon for $5 off your next $30 purchase at Food Lion!

It expires Tuesday, July 24th, so print it and use it soon!

CVS- Big Savings on Batteries and Razors Plus Coupon- Saved over $24!

If bought when not on sale, these items would have cost $29.86 at CVS. I paid $8.77 plus tax for them PLUS earned back $3 in Extrabucks after I paid. It's like paying $5.77 for all of this!

Today is the last day that you have to go into CVS and scan your Extrabuck Card to receive a $4 off $20 bonus coupon.

I took advantage of that on Sunday when I shared this info on the Delly's Deals Facebook page. I needed "D" batteries and they are currently B1G1 free (all CVS batteries), so I decided to use the $4 off $20 in conjunction with some other coupons that I had. This is how it worked out:

I bought:

1 4-pack of CVS Brand Size D Batteries $6.79
1 4-pack of CVS Brand Size D Batteries FREE
1 Hydro Power Select Razor- $9.99
1 Scrunchi Hair Ties $2.99

Pre-Coupon Total: $19.77 plus tax

I redeemed:

$4 off $20 purchase (I guess they took it because the total was $20+ after tax)
$4 off Schick Hydro Razor (from Sunday paper)
$2.00 off any Hair Accessory Coupon (this had just printed out for me at the CVS coupon machine)
$1.00 Extra Buck Reward (this had also just printed out for me at the CVS coupon machine)

My total before taxes ended up being $8.77 for all of those items!

AND........the best part- after paying, I got back $3 in Extrabucks to spend on my next CVS order! This was for buying the razor- you can get the same deal all week through Saturday. Buy the Schick Hydro Power Select Razor for $9.99, use a $4 off coupon, get a $3 extra buck back. Counting the Extrabucks, it was like paying $5.77 for all of that!

This shopping trip is just one of the MANY reasons why I LOVE shopping at CVS!

My Lowes Foods Triple Couponing Trip- Spent $11.20 and saved $54.65!!

Cereal Deals are the name of the game right now- 3 Boxes of Crunchy Nut Cereal, 4 Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles, 2 Frosted Flakes, 2 Honey Nut Cheerios, 2 Total Raisin Bran, 2 Motts/Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks, 2 Borden Sliced Cheese 16 ct., 1 KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce
Total: $11.20 plus tax after coupons ($65.85 before)

On Sunday afternoon, I made the trek with my 3-year old daughter to the Lowes Foods in Leland to check out their Triple Couponing Event.

Normally, I wouldn't take one of my children with me shopping, but since it was the weekend, my husband agreed to watch our boys if I would at least take my daughter. So, we made a fun day of it. She's a trooper- she fell asleep while we were driving to Leland and I had to wake her up before going into the store. I was a little worried that she'd be grumpy but she was excited to push one of the kiddie grocery carts and help me with the trip!

My daughter, excited to push her grocery cart.
We had it loaded down by the time checkout came around!

I am so impressed with the Leland Lowes Foods. It is a beautiful, clean, well organized store and the staff was so nice and helpful. Unlike most special couponing events, the store was well-stocked. Everything I wanted to get with my coupons was in-stock. I didn't have to ask for any rain-checks. My only complaint was that shopping took me a little longer because the aisles seemed to be organized differently than I'm used to. Frozen and refrigerated were on opposite sides of the store and some of the aisles were in different locations so I really had to look for things.

Here is a breakdown of what I bought:

FREE Items:

Frosted Flakes (used $.70 off coupon from 7/8 paper)
KC Masterpiece Honey BBQ Sauce (used coupon from Sunday paper- not sure of date)

CHEAP Items:

Total Raisin Bran ($2.99- $.50 off coupon that tripled= $1.49)
Motts and Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks- ($2.00-$.50 off coupon that tripled= $.50)
Crunchy Nut Cereals ($2.50-$.70 off coupon that tripled= $.40 per box)
Borden Cheese (2.50-$.55 off coupon that tripled- $.85)
Honey Nut Cheerios (2.99-.50 off coupon that tripled- $1.49 per box)
Post Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles ($2.00- $.55 off coupon that tripled- $.35 per box)

Total: $11.20 plus tax! I saved $54.65!

BONUSES:

I bought four boxes of Fruity Pebbles for a grand total of $1.40. After paying, a Catalina coupon printed out for $3.00 off my next order! Counting the coupon, I actually MADE $1.60 for buying the cereal.

I wanted to earn some fuel rewards for money off my gas (see page 4 of the Lowes Foods Sales Flyer). You must buy certain items to qualify and I had coupons for the Total Cereal and the Cheerios. I bought two boxes of each and earned $.20 off per gallon the next time I get gas at Wilco/Hess. So, I'm waiting until my car gets a little lower on gas so that I can really maximize that $.20 savings. If I buy 20 gallons, that would be a savings of $4 additional on my gas.

I also did a second transaction. I was told I could do 20 coupons per transaction, so since I had about 28 coupons, I split the transactions up and paid separate for the first 20 and second 8 coupons. My second trip wasn't as dramatic, since it included some meat, milk and also two battery toothbrushes for my children, but I still saved $26.41.

OTHER GREAT DEALS:

My second trip wasn't as dramatic because I bought some meats, battery toothbrushes and a few things that I needed but did not have coupons for.
Still, I got some great deals and tripled 8 more coupons!

Hillshire Farms Deli Select Turkey Meat ($3.79-$.35 coupon that tripled= $2.74)
Almond Milk- ($3.29- $.55 coupon that tripled= $1.64)
Tyson Chicken Nuggets ($5-$.75 coupon that tripled= $2.75)
Pagoda Express Wontons ($2.50- $1.00 off= $1.00)
Butterball Turkey Rope Sausage ($3.29- $.55 coupon that tripled= $1.64)

The good (and bad) news is that Lowes Foods is tripling indefinitely. This is good because it means this could go on for weeks. It is bad because it could end tomorrow. So, I would suggest calling before you head over and definitely confirm with someone before shopping because there is no signage anywhere to indicate that they are tripling.

Let me know what kinds of deals you find!

Star News vs. News and Observer

Want to Learn to Coupon? Check out an upcoming Workshop
This morning when I went out to get the newspapers, the Star News had not been delivered, yet. This was very strange because I got there later than usual, around 7 a.m.

So, I bought two copies of the Raleigh News and Observer paper and I will list the coupons that were included in it. I must say that the coupons look really good from first glance. I saw lots of food coupons and General Mills coupons, plus one of my personal favorites, Wholly Guacamole.

There was only one insert this week- a Smart Source.

Need to organize all those coupons? Check out our binders here! They are the BEST organizational system around for couponing!

Save $$$ on Charcoal, Dressing, Trash Bags and BBQ Sauce at HT this Week!

Harris Teeter likes to offer random promos each week in their EVIC email. Here is a great little promo that works wonderfully if you want to stock up on Glad Trash bags, Kingsford Charcoal, Hidden Valley Dressings, or KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce.

Buy $15 worth of any of those products and you will get $4 off at the register. You can even use coupons on these items, too and bring the price down even lower. As long as the items ring up to $15 BEFORE you redeem your coupons, you will get the $4 off.

Click here to see the online flyer showing exactly which items you need to buy to qualify for the promo. Be sure to buy the exact sizes listed or the $4 might not come off.

One last thing- there are high value coupons available for you to print online for the charcoal and BBQ sauce. I believe they are both for $3 off. You have to join the coupons.com savings club to access them. I joined recently and it has been worth it! I only paid $3 to join for the month but I've already printed way more than $3 worth of coupons. Look to the right here on my website and click the big, red box to join!

Lowes Foods in Leland Tripling Coupons!

I have exciting news for those of you who can get to the Lowes Foods in Leland, NC (right outside of Wilmington). They are tripling coupons!

Thank you to Gihan H. from the Delly's Deals Facebook page for sending me the heads up. I called and spoke to a manager to get the details. She said it was only for that particular store (possibly because they are a new store- maybe this is a promotion). She also informed me that they were not given an end date. So this means they will be tripling indefinitely!

Each customer can triple up to 20 coupons per transaction with their Lowes Foods Card. Coupons up to $.99 triple- so that means $.25 triples to $.75; $.50 triples to $1.50 and $.75 triples to $2.25 off. If you happened to have a $.99 coupon, it would triple to $2.97 off, though I have never seen a $.99 coupon. How awesome is that!

Go ahead and pull any $.99 or less coupons that you have that you are interested in using. I sort mine by aisle in the store so that I am organized when I go in. I then go aisle to aisle, looking at the prices and deciding if it's a good deal. Keep in mind that occasionally, even with the triple coupon, the price is still not the best. However, more often than not, the tripled coupon makes items an exceptional deal, especially if the item is also on sale.

Below are a couple of deals that I noticed, according to the sales flyer prices. I have not been in the store yet; if I get a chance I will drop by this weekend. Please do post any of your great deals or matchups below or on the Delly's Deals Facebook page!

Triple Coupon Deals at Lowes Foods: (please verify each deal and price on your own before paying. I use the online listed price to get an estimate of what the final price will be but occasionally the prices are not exact).

$2.99 Tuesday is Here Again!

Last time the Fresh Market did $2.99 Tuesday was in April of 2012. Three months later, it's here again, each Tuesday in July. If you like high quality ground beef, chicken and milk, you don't want to miss out!

Check out a post below that I did from April that explains the Fresh Market and $2.99 Tuesdays in detail.

Staples Back-to-School Deals plus $5 off $30 coupon!

Although it's only early July, back-to-school season is starting up and will continue through the rest of the summer. Instead of waiting for the week before school to get supplies, I like to get items ahead of time when they go on extreme specials as they are starting to do this week. Each week you can simply collect the great deals in a bin and when school is ready, your kids can go shopping from the bin of all the great items you've gotten. Staples even has some items for as little as a penny this week!

Staples, my favorite office store, is leading the pack with some great deals that start today. In the Staples ad, found in this week's Sunday paper, there is a $5 off $30 coupon. You can also print it here if you didn't get the paper. Those are always handy, especially since I think most people could find something they need at Staples. I tend to buy printer ink there because you earn Staples Rewards cash for it PLUS they give you credits for turning in your old ink cartridges.

In addition, on the front page of the ad, Staples features it's Extreme Deals of the Week. They will do this off and on all back-to-school season. These items are 1 cent items, limit two per customer with a minimum of $5 purchase in the store:

Rose Art 24-count crayons
Staples washable school glue
BIC round stick pens 8 pack

You can also get 500 sheet multipurpose paper from Staples for only $.25 per pack after the easy rebate. So, you pay $6.99 and get back a $6.74 easy rebate, which makes the paper only a quarter. You can get two packs this way.

I also noticed $1 Sharpie markers (5 pack) which is a great deal and $.50 BIC Great Erase dry-erase markers (normally $4.29).

Finally, there is a 15% off back-to-school savings pass that you can buy for $10. I've never done this and I'm not 100% sure that it's a great deal. I suppose it depends on exactly how much you need to buy. I only have one child in school right now, so I don't feel that it would be super beneficial for me.

There are many great deals in the Staples flyer today; be sure to give it a look over and circle any items that appeal to you!

$5 off $25 at Family Dollar through July 8th!

I recently posted about how great shopping at Family Dollar has become. While I don't shop there every week, they do run some great sales PLUS take manufacturer's coupons PLUS offer additional coupons for free on their website.

Currently there is a $5 off $25 coupon available for you to print on Family Dollar's website here. Print it ASAP because it expires tomorrow, July 8th. Family Dollar does these about once a month.

Remember that you can combine Family Dollar Store coupons with manufacturer's coupons on one item. Make sure the Family Dollar coupon says "Family Dollar Coupon" at the top in order to really be a Family Dollar coupon. In other words, just because you print it from the Family Dollar website does not mean it is a Family Dollar coupon. Some are manufacturer's coupons.

I like to use these $5 off $25 coupons for things like diapers, paper towels, plates, or any other stock up item that is currently on sale at Family Dollar. I actually matched the Sam's Club price last time on diapers by using coupons at Family Dollar. Sometimes I do better than the big box stores!

Print and enjoy!

Good morning! This week there is one Proctor and Gamble insert in each newspaper. Both inserts are the same, so it doesn't matter which paper you buy. In this case, I would suggest the Wilmington paper since it is cheaper ($1.50 versus $2.00 for the Raleigh paper).

Also, note that there is a Family Dollar ad with a $5 off $25 coupon in the Wilmington paper this week. I LOVE those $5 off $25 purchase coupons! You can use it, along with the sales and any other coupons that you have to really save big bucks at Family Dollar. Family Dollar also has it's own store coupons that you can combine with manufacturer's coupons, PLUS the $5 off $25. Finally, I noticed a Proctor and Gamble promo in the Family Dollar sales ad that said you could receive a $5 prepaid VISA gift card if you purchase $25 in Proctor and Gamble products (see page 3 of the flyer for details). This would be a great opportunity to stock up on P&G products such as paper towels, laundry detergent, toilet paper, cleaning, etc. You can use the $5 off $25, plus coupons from your P&G insert, plus the store sales AND still get the $5 gift card as long as your original purchase totaled $25. You can then use coupons to bring down the cost that you pay out of pocket.

Need to organize all those coupons? Check out our binders here! They are the BEST organizational system around for couponing!

As a bonus, all three drug store sales flyers were in the newspaper. I know that some mornings the drug store flyers are missing but they were all there. I will be skimming those for some good deals today.

Happy Fourth of July! I hope you enjoy your semi-break from couponing!
