Star News vs. News and Observer!

It's time again to compare the two papers that are available here locally to see which has the most coupons this week!

Interestingly, the Raleigh News and Observer only had one insert this time, a Red Plum. My Wilmington Star News Newspaper had THREE inserts- a Red Plum, Smart Source and a special Everydaysaver. I was very impressed with the Wilmington paper this morning. Don't forget that you can get the Wilmington newspaper for only $1.00 at the Dollar Tree locations.

I was tempted to say the two Red Plum inserts were identical, but then I found two Morton Salt coupons that weren't in the Wilmington Red Plum but were in the Raleigh Red Plum. I Also couldn't find the Tennessee Pride Sausage coupon in the Wilmington paper.  But overall, they basically have the same coupons this week.

The Wilmington paper had two additional inserts this week that I did not find in my Raleigh paper. The Everyday Saver insert featured lots of Pillsbury coupons for cookies, biscuits, pie crusts, and crescent rolls. It also had Granola Thins, Hamburger Helper, Green Giant Frozen Veggies and a rare coupon on Green Giant Canned Veggies! The canned veggie coupon is for $.50 off of two, so it will double at Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods. This would make a great coupon to search for extras of on EBAY, as it doesn't expire until January 7th, 2012!

The Everyday saver insert also had Yoplait Greek Yogurt, Betty Crocker Cake Mix and icing coupons and a Bisquick coupon for $.50 off. Note, these coupons usually have matching digital coupons from Harris Teeter EVIC and also from Lowes Foods and Cellfire.com. Finally, I also saw a coupon for Chex Cereals and Progresso soups. This Everyday saver insert is one you don't want to miss!

In additional to the everyday saver inserts, there was also a Smart Source insert in the Wilmington paper. It featured coupons such as Scott products, Egglands Best, Fleischmann's Bread, Reynold's Wrap and Oven Bags for your turkey, Dixie Crystals Sugar, Mrs. Schubert's Bread, Texas Toast Croutons, Pam Cooking Spray, Orville Reddenbacher Popcorn, Sweet n Low, White Castle Burgers, Marie Callendars Dessert Pie, Redi-Whip, Nabisco Crackers, Egg Nog, Bird's Eye Veggies, Carolina Pride Hotdogs, Excedrin and Bruce's Baked Sweet Potatoes.

My point is that you DEFINITELY don't want to miss the Star News this week and I probably would make a pass on the Raleigh paper!
